Upgrade Your Habits
Take a fresh hold of your life through this science-based habit change program
Four weeks | Starting 9th October, 2024
Live on Zoom | 6.30 - 8:30pm (AEST)
With: Timothea Goddard
Come along and learn about reward based learning - the basis for all mammalian learning - and how it can help us transform our habit loops, without using will-power. Based on addiction psychiatrist and mindfulness expert, Prof Judson Brewer’s ground-breaking work on transforming life-harming habits like tech addiction, smoking, over-eating and drinking.
We are all addicted to something - food, news, doom-scrolling, shopping, drinking, eating. The power of our addictive habits is very much a result of the nature of our brain and bodies colliding with the availability of "stuff": social media, goods, gambling, porn and substances of all kinds that feel good - for a while.
This course will help you clearly map out the reward-based learning that leads to your current habits. We start by getting clear about the science, our behaviour and what it leads to. Then we make small shifts over this four week experiment to support our relationship with ourselves and others, for more peace and ease in daily life, and for the development of wisdom too.
You will be supported by:
- A clear understanding of the science of reward-based learning and how habit loops are formed
- Support to clearly map your particular habits loops including the cue, the behaviour and the rewards
- Satisfying and challenging practices designed to help you get curious about, feel and understand your current rewards
- Time and space to update your brain on what is rewarding NOW.
- Letting go of will-power and using curiosity and kindness to update your brain instead.
- A group of people who are motivated to grow with you
- A live dedicated teacher to hold you in the ups and downs of the process
Pricing and Scholarship places
