Being unwell and in pain can cause shock, mental anguish and distress. While mindfulness training doesn’t necessarily change the illness itself, our programs have been shown to change how we are relating to the illness with reduced stress, anxiety, depression and pain, as well as improv symptom management and enjoyment of life.

The Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program promotes self-awareness, self-care, self-regulation, and self-management of disease, by ‘buffering’ emotional and physiological reactions to stress, providing one plausible biological mechanism for protecting against stress-related diseases.
