So often we have to override our tiredness and “push on,” feeding into what Michael Leunig suggests are pervasive states of anxiety and restlessness. Retreats are a unique opportunity to give ourselves permission to stop, rest and restore the mind, body and heart. Befriending Your Mind Retreat

Hartzer Park, Bowral | 6 - 8 November, 2020

In this retreat, the focus will be permission, respect and curiosity for the mind you have, rather than "training" the mind in a certain preferred direction. We will have lots of free time plus structured meditation time where you can offer yourself a big internal paddock to run around in. We will use writing to recollect and explore what has arisen in the practice. Single rooms, good food, attentive teachers and time in nature offer a great space to rest, renew and explore.

This silent retreat is suitable for anyone wishing to deepen their practice and cultivate further understanding of the wisdom teachings underpinning mindfulness practices. The retreat will emphasise quieting the mind, opening the heart, and developing clarity and depth of practice. This may be especially of interest to those teaching or aspiring to teach mindfulness - but all are welcome.

This five day silent retreat will focus on the four foundations of mindfulness and is suitable for anyone wishing to deepen their practice and cultivate further understanding of the wisdom teachings (Buddhist psychology) underpinning mindfulness meditation practices. The retreat will emphasise sustained practice, opening the heart and developing more trust in your own mind. Lots of movement practice, single rooms and good food too!
