Anxiety is natural for creatures, and it is very important as a signal to help us navigate the world.  But sometimes this signal can become like a smoke alarm that is stuck on.  Interestingly, anxiety can sometimes be part of not wanting to feel healthy emotions like anger, fear, sadness and grief that may be important to meet and digest.

In this retreat we will make space to explore the nature of our anxiety – to meet it with intelligence and care and compassion to loosen it up and find more presence and courage in the face of our personal challenges and also the complex crises the world is in the midst of.  We will get specific about how mindfulness practice can assist in immediate ways, but also over the long term.

The space, quiet time and good company will enable you to dissolve stress and holding and restore your energy for life.  Unless we deliberately take time out, our lives can become filled with autopilot reactivity.

In any moment, there are good things to orient towards and experience, but these are so often missed in a busy and demanding life, with all the roles we fulfil.  During this day, let go of an orientation of 'doing' and 'managing' and embrace moments of ease, support, delight and stillness.
