Corporate and workplace programs
We offer
corporate programs for assisting people to deal effectively
with stress in the workplace, and to find their own way of
balancing the many demands that are constant in a productive
life.
Framework
The framework for our corporate and
workplace training is the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
program, developed by Professor Jon Kabat-Zinn at the
University of Massachusetts Medical School. It has been
forged from an integration of transformative Eastern
mindfulness practices with contemporary Western scientific
understandings of human functioning.
Our
programs can assist individuals to:
- reduce stress,
- increase stability in the midst of complex or highly
charged situations,
- enhance clarity and creative thinking,
- improve communication skills,
- cultivate leadership and teamwork, and
- improve overall effectiveness in the workplace.
Through
this program, people actually change their behavior, not
just learn about how they might change it.
It engages
participants at the levels of physiological stress
regulation, emotional regulation and cognitive training -
all leading to enhanced emotional, mental and physical
resilience. It also engages people at the level of values
and purpose, which can increase satisfaction at work and in
life more generally. It encourages people to engage fully
with every aspect of their lives.
It is an
evidence-based program which has been widely used and
researched for the past 25 years.
Delivery
Eight
Week MBSR program
We offer the evidence-based eight-week Mindfulness Based
Stress Reduction program, which is a profoundly effective
training with well-researched outcomes for the long-term
mental and physical health and well-being of participants,
and the organization. This program involves meeting for 2
hours per week for eight weeks, and for one full day (off-
site). Programs can be offered at your workplace or at a
convenient venue for participants. Course book and 3 CDs
are provided, and ongoing coaching contact by phone or email
throughout the eight weeks as needed.
One day
workshop
We
also offer a 1 day workshop which would give a valuable
taste of how to use stress as a signal to respond rather
than react in habitual ways, and methods to achieve
this.
Attendance at Openground ongoing
courses
Individuals can also enrol in any of the
ongoing MBSR courses held in Manly, Annandale and Waverley.
Courses are held quarterly throughout the year. Courses are
also available in Canberra, Southern Highlands and
Perth.
